MLC Bike Bus November 10th Lead Schedule

This past week our family was able to view the pre-release of a movie documentary called “Veer.”  A movie that covers 7 local figures in the biking community, it ties most everyone from the zoobombers and sprockettes to bikers killed on the road and the family they leave behind. The work of the BTA in legislature is also covered, talking about the challenges from the social need to legal protection.  It wraps up with the success of personal stories, to getting the vulnerable roadway user bill, and 4 others, passed last session.  It tries to tie together the different cultures of cycling in Portland with some interesting effects.

As you know from my talking to you regulars about field trips to events, it would be fun to expose the kids to the different cultures of bicycling that we have here in Portland.   Right now they are “urban commuter cyclists.”  There is an opportunity here to let them see what exactly they are in the big picture as well.  To that effect, please RSVP to me directly for the Saturday, December 6th Cyclocross event at Portland Meadows! We’ll talk about the details.
I’m also asking for input before Wednesday’s meeting with REI outreach.  Our meeting is for 2009 sponsorship of the bike bus.  What opportunities do you see?

Great 4 day weekend!  This week’s lead schedule as follows:

  • Mon- NO SCHOOL
  • Tues – NO SCHOOL
  • Wed – A.M. Scott, P.M. Tracy
  • Thurs – A.M. Tracy, P.M. Angela
  • Fri – A.M. Scott, P.M. Lisa

See you on the bus!
